Turbines are expected to perform in extremely harsh, high temperature environments and their components are subject to rapid heating and cooling. Due to this, they are susceptible to thermal shock.
AmPro has developed 3D printed hollow blades made from Nickel-based alloys. Through multiple iterations, the component has been designed with low residual stress, whilst overcoming the technical difficulties of toric surfaces, internal runners, and multiple pores.
AmPro has shortened the development cycle of these blades by more than 509%.
