Crack-Free Nickel Printed Parts

3D printing with Nickel (Ni) alloys presents some significant challenges. Since Ni alloys are typically used at high temperatures, one of the most important mechanical properties is the creep resistance. The finer grain size resulting from 3D printing leads to poorer creep resistance, coupled with the fact that the rapid cooling in 3D printing often results in many Ni alloys cracking.

The AmPro Team’s expert material knowledge has enabled them to optimise both the processing parameters to print high strength Ni alloys without cracking and the heat treatment conditions to provide maximum creep resistance for an outstandingly long service life in high temperature applications.
